Beginning Monday, October 19, 2020, the coaches and student athletes of the following athletic/activity teams will return to physical activity/practice/training: football, girls’ and boys’ volleyball, and cross country. Pre-Participation Exams will be required for all athletes. As all sports listed above will be practicing in different areas of the school’s campus, practice may possibly be scheduled six (6) days a week (Monday-Saturday). Schedules to be set once coaches and athletes interested in training are determined.
Workouts will be conducted in “pods” of students with the same 5-10 students working out together. All safe distancing protocols will be followed per County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health. Facilities on campus to be used would be football fields, tennis courts, various trails within the community, open grassy areas on campuses, and locker rooms for restroom use ONLY. A staggered schedule will be followed for coaches to take their pods of athletes to the restrooms to ensure social distancing. The restrooms in locker rooms will be cleaned by custodians daily.
Daily Pre-Workout Screening of athletes shall be completed by coaches at the designated entrance. In addition, coaches and athletes will self-screen prior to leaving their home. All coaches and student athletes must wear a face mask or covering at all times and bring their own water bottle. Hydration stations and/or water coolers will be used to refill personal water bottles only. Cross Country runners may remove their face mask or covering while on a long distance run. Athletes participating in a high intensity aerobic activity or engaging in heavy physical exertion may also remove their face mask or covering during that activity only and must maintain a distance of 8 feet or greater from others.
